Post-Primary Individual Championship 2025/26

This year, the Post-Primary Championship began with the individual finals, with no regional events held. The event was organised in conjunction with the Cork Chess Congress at the Clayton Hotel on Lapp’s Quay, Cork. Many players continued their chess journey after the school tournament by competing in various sections of the Cork Chess Congress.

In total, more than 200 students from eighteen schools participated across three age groups, competing for the trophies. The level of competition was high: among last year’s winners, only Emir Abiltarov managed to secure a place on the podium. In addition, seven schools succeeded in winning at least one medal.
